How to enforce manual router using a specific routing path?

Hi Everyone: I build a manual router to route a newly inserted two-pin net at postRoute designing stage. I use commands from Wire Edit section in fetxtcmdref.pdf, mainly editAddRoute and editAddVia. I route the net as a L-shape. E.g., assume the two-pin net has coordinates (x0,y0) and (x1,y1). I set xx = x1 and yy = y0, connect (x0,y0) with (xx,yy) and (x1,y1) with (xx,yy) separately. I also add vias at the turning point. The problem is, such routing usually fails, because the path and layer I specified is overlapping with wires of other nets. How can I enforce my manual router to use the path I specified? I don't care about any violations, since I can solve them later using NanoRoute, with my manually routed net fixed. Thanks very much.

     setEdit -drc_on 0

You can also do it in the gui. Hit "e" to bring up the Edit Route form. There's an Options button. Hit that, and on the form that comes up, you can turn DRC checking on or off.

Hi Kari: Thanks very much for your quick response, I really appreciate it. Sorry for bother again, but I still face other problem. I need to shield some nets and I need to custom route these shielding wires. My next question is, after adding some VSS wires to the design for shielding, how could I connect them to the VSS mesh? Thanks very much.

If you're doing your shields by hand, then you'll have to connect them to the mesh by hand too. Just draw a wire connecting your shield wire to the nearest VSS stripe. It should automatically drop vias if needed. You may need to check what layers you're allowing vias on in the Edit Route form (using the Options button I think).
