ETS and EDI installation directories

Hi all,

This is a pretty silly question.

Is ETS package intended to be installed in same directory as EDI package?

I realized their directory structure is quite similar and it makes sense to me to be installed all together but I'm not sure whether it should/can be done.

One more question: do I need to install RC package if I already have EDI installed? RC seems to be a subset of EDI

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Jordi

Hi Jordi, I am assuming you cheer for Barcelona ;) Now that we got the important stuff out of the way we can move on to RC. EDI has a full installation of RC in its release tree. However, such installation is not updated with every minor release of RC and may not even be updated with every USR releases so recommendation is to download RC stand-alone from http://downloads.cadence.com While there is some overlap with respect to content of the various tools release trees, at this time, the safe practice is to install each tool in its own tree since not all redundant packages are the same version, enhancements, etc. hope this clarifiies, gh-

    Hi gh,
You are right, I'm a passionate Barça fan :)
Thanks for your reply. I get often confused because lack of (1-to-1) correlation between product names, license features and software packages, even more when same program is present in two different packages.

    Regards,
    Jordi
