power routing calculation

I got a cadence document which depicts how to do power planning for an ASIC. But the calculation seems incomplete and confusing. Please find the attached document for reference. I don't understand what is the relevance of calculating the power stripe density and how the different values in it are assumed. Also after getting power stripe density , how is it used for power ring calculation? In power ring calculation the number of power straps are assumed to be four. Can any one tell how these assumptions are made. Please give detailed steps in the document, else it creates lots of confusion, thanks Gops
