pin positions

Hi All,

Iam following bottom up approach for some reasons. While doing this , i have 2 blocks, among which one  critical block for which Place & route was completed .

I have another block whose pins are connected to first one. So , to resolve congestion at top level, iam planning to maintain the pins of this block in such a way that they come aligned up with pins of already freezedout one. So is there any way of dumping the pin co-ordinates using some scripts or somedbcommands.

or else, can we dump out a pin names and thier loation which are connected to a net, using dbcommands

 Please help me

Regards,

K.VISWANADH BABU

You want the pinAlignment command. Partition out the block with the frozen pins, and then reload your top-level with that block as a LEF. Then you can use the pinAlignment command to assign the pins of your other block to match right up with the frozen block's pins. - Kari
