edi 11.1 Failed to read Netlist

Dear sir/madam,

I am now using cadence encounter (EDI) 11.1. in the IMPORT Design i am now select the netlist file and also apply the mmmc config file, and i was also apply power nets and lef (all.lef) files. finally i will click ok the tool shows the error 

ERROR (ENCVL-902): Failed to read Netlist filename.v please give me the solutions for this problem

    this usually means that the file didn't exist, or there was a syntax error. Look in the log file for more details about what went wrong.

                       my problem was solved, because during synthesis command, i apply only synthesize.

    now i am apply the correct command synthesize -to_mapped -effort medium . now the import design accept the Netlist file. the tool working fine.

     please tell me anyone this solution is correct or not.

    i know very little about synthesis, but i think you're in the right ballpark. :-) i just checked a script i have access to, and there's a synthesize -to_generic first, then later a couple of synthesize -to_mapped with various options. so it's probably highly dependent on your flow and what your goals are.

    maybe a synth expert can comment.
