How to use the physical IP when physical design flow?

Hello,

I have a problem to use the physical IPs when performing physical design flow with Encounter.

For packages with FE view, it includes these directories:
astro cell_list doc lef primetime symbols synopsys verilog vhdl
where the lef files are used for run physical design with ICC/Encounter.

And for packages with FB view, it includes these directories:
astro cell_list doc gds2 lef lpe_netlist lvs_netlist primetime symbols synopsys verilog vhdl
I understand the three new directories gds2, lpe_netlist, lvs_netlist are added.
lpe_netlist is for extraction.
lvs_netlist is for lvs check. But are there some userguides talking about how to use these to netlist?
And for gds2, how to use it in ICC/Encounter? I have read some design flow methodology, but cannot find the way to use it.

For the digital parts with physical IPs, we are not sure how to use the physical view of these standard cells in Encounter.

Because I have just found the LEF files are same as previous front-end packages. The cell details are provided in the GDS file ibm13rfrvt.gds2.

The only way we could come up with is:

(1) do the physical design flow with previous front-end packages

(2) import the ibm13rfrvt.gds2 to Virtuoso library

(3) do the instantiate for the standard cells.

We are not sure whether such way is a correct approach for normal designs.

Another possible approach is:

(1) convert the ibm13rfrvt.gds2 to LEF files

(2) do physical design flow with the new LEF files.

Still not sure whether this approach is feasible for us?

Does anyone has any suggestions?

Thanks.

Jerry

Encounter uses the LEF of the std cells. The LEF should be provided in the library delivery.
