Exporting from Encounter to Virtuoso using DEF doesn't include viarule vias (via-arrays)

Hi,

I am exporting from Encounter to Virtuoso using the DEF format.  In my DEF file, I have many nets that are connected between layers using a via generated/defined using the VIARULE command in DEF.   I've noticed that these vias aren't included in the import into Virtuoso.  Am I missing an import option that will enable this in virtuoso?  If not, what is the recommended method to get all of the information from Encounter into Virtuoso?

I figured out what the problem was with this situation. It turned out that the technology file in the PDK was using different via names than the technology file being used by virtuoso, despite the fact that both technology files were distributed with the same PDK and should relate the same information. As such, Virtuoso was using one library of vias and Encounter another. This resulted in Virtuoso not importing the vias used in via arrays (using VIARULE) because it couldn't find the corresponding via element.
