filter_collection doesn't work whi variable

Hi all,

I'm trying to filter a collection with a value.

# following works, it report the same collection of ports_in but   i_pipppp

set filt_ports_in [filter_collection $ports_in {hierarchical_name !~ i_pippo}]

But if I try:

set my_var i_pippo

set filt_ports_in [filter_collection $ports_in {hierarchical_name !~ $my_var}]

# it doesn't work neither

set filt_ports_in [filter_collection $ports_in {hierarchical_name !~ "$my_var"}]

 HAVE YOU A SUGGESTION?

thanks a lot

This is simply a TCL syntax error. You need to understand that in TCL { } are quoting characters, and anything inside them will not be evaluated (unless the command itself evaluates them, as if, foreach, etc. do).

    Try this instead:

    set filt_ports_in [filter_collection $ports_in "hierarchical_name !~ $my_var"]

and see this for more info:
