Getting Started

I am just getting started in digital design flow and in the process of bringing up a tsmc digital PDK. I am using genus and innovus v16.10 for synthesis and pnr. I have an understanding of the files that go into the process based on previous scripts available to me but would like a deeper understanding of what each of files do and how they work together. Where would be a good place to learn more?

    Hi,
I think the rapid adoption kits (RAKs) on support.cadence.com are a good start to get an overview of the digital design toolchain of CDNS.  E.g. Virtuoso Digital Implementation (VDI) Discovery Kit 19.1x - Stylus Based RAK
Also, there you will find many articles and application notes that explain specifics of the tools. You will need to create an account to get access there.

If possible, would recommend using newer tool versions. There are many bug fixes and improvements that come with each release; v16 is now more than 6 years old.

    Thank you!

Corrected the source file. Now using versions 21.16.

Not to deviate the topic, can you confirm that I have all the necessary files for the digital flow before reaching back out the TSMC to complete the stack?

Have - PVT *.lib, *.lef, Missing the qrcTechFile

Also have the gds map file for importing into Virtuoso.
