write placement blockage around cell

I have special placed cell.  I need to find cell and draw placement blockage for full width of cell for the complete height of the design.  From top to bottom of the design.  How to complete task?

  • Hi,
    every placed instance in the design has a location attribute. You can read that with dbGet/get_db command, and create the placement blockage. 

    You do not need to worry about the box of the placement blockage being outside the design boundary, you can add very large upper Y coordinate and it will be automatically trimmed to stay in the design.
