liberate trio: rsh_cmd doesn't work with Bolt

Hi all!

I'm switching to liberate trio. The setup available to me is a slurm-cluster. Therefore, I have to use a custom command to submit remote jobs. For this, I have in my liberate script:

set_var packet_mode arc
set_var packet_arc_job_manager bolt
set_var packet_clients 4
set_var rsh_cmd "/usr/local/bin/run-remote.sh"

What I find is that the command specified as rsh_cmd is never even executed (it write a log file about each invokation).

The process hangs at

2025-01-09 15:40:20.383: INFO (BOLT-5000): T20250109154013p3891725 successfully connected to communication server on host 'master'
2025-01-09 15:40:30.469: INFO (BOLT-5000): All initial messages are published.
(Jan 9 15:40:30) Starting submission for batch clients 1 - 4
(Jan 9 15:40:30) Client 1- 4 submitted. batch job id = 0

I also tried adding set_var -stage top_level rsh_cmd …, but this also didn't change anything.

When I switch to local as rsh_cmd, everything is working fine.

Are there any other settings that need to be changed to get rsh_cmd working?
