How to Edit Wire and use editPowerVia

Hi

I want to implement automatic routing for the IP and IO—such as connecting their VSS and VDD pins to the core area—instead of using the manual "editwire" tool function.
I would like to know which method—`add_shape`, `dbCreateWire`, or `addStripe`—is the most appropriate to use. Also, regarding the first two methods, is it true that they cannot be used with `editPowerVia` to have `viagen` automatically place vias?
