Hi,

is there any why to configure eManager to work in parallel.

to say,

i want eManager to take all test for given Vsif and to be able to run them on a predefine (by user)  number of stations (LSF - bsub).

currently, eManager is running the Vsif test by test serially on a single station.

Thanks in advence,

--Kobi

     Hi Kobi.

Yes, vManager is mainly intended to run parallel jobs.
You need to open the GUI, click Setup then the Config button.
Next, go to the "DRM" (Distributed Resouce Manager) tab of the Config GUI.
If you're using SunGrid, choose "Generic" (pre-8.1 vManager) or "SGE" for 8.1.
If you're using LSF, choose "LSF".

You have the option to specify the dispatch commands via this GUI, or by using the parameters in the VSIF file:
    dispatch_command, pre_session_dispatch_command, post_session_dispatch_command.

If you don't have LSF or SunGrid, but have some other queue system, give us a shout via the forum or a Service Request, and we'll try to work out how to interface with your system.
If you don't have any system setup yet, go ask your IT admin for help, because it's going to take a bit more work! :-)

    Thanks,

i have upgrade to eManager V8.1 and it works fine.

i just need to know now how to "restrain" eManager to run on a predefined number of stations.

e.g , if we have a total LST machine number of 10 and i what eManager to run on 5 of them.

    Hello Stephen,

I agree with your reply. We are using LSF. Inspite of configuring in GUI, we need to add something in the vsif file, in order to support it.

because  when i make configuration as per what you stated, it gives an INTERNAL ERROR.

Kindly help me in the matter.

    Suggestions awaited.

     Thanks and Regards,

    Mihir.

    Hi Mihir.

You should not need to specify any LSF settings in the VSIF if you already entered the correct configuration information in the GUI. You haven't given much information to show what settings you used orwhat the error is, so it's going to be hard to diagnose it here.

I would recommend that you open a support case on http://support.cadence.com or talk to your local Cadence AE who will be able to guide you through the set up process.

    Regards,
    Steve.
