Viewing covergroups

Hi

 I have an sv and e testbench I am simulating using ncsim.  If I run my simulation I have coverage enabled in e and SV.  I can view my e coverage bins by clicking on the coverage icon in the SimVision console.  I cannot see the covergroups in the SV data Browser.  Can you tell me how to view my SV covergroups?

  • This is supported in EMGR81 and maybe EMGR62.

    I am unable to use IUS 8.1 due to compile problems in the testbench.  My testbench compile using IUS 6.2 but the SV coverage is not available to view.  I believe that I need to use the Unified Coverage Model to view the coverage but I cant find any details on this.  Can anyone help?

  • I misread your original post and thought you were viewing coverage using Enterprise Manager (EMGR).The new Unified Coverage Model (unicov) allows the mixing of coverage from Specman, IUS, and IFV (formal verifier).

    I'm not sure what you're refering to when you talk about the "coverage icon" in SimVision. Is this something that you added? Can you add more to the description to help me understand which icon you're clicking on?

    As for the IUS81 problems, feel free to start a new post with the details of that problem if you want help in getting it resolved (unless you've already submitted a ticket to SourceLink for help).

    You are correct.  I can view specman coverage with Incisive Enterprise simulator but i am not sure how to view the systemverilog coverpoints.  Is there a switch or something I must enable to capture and dump systemverilog coverpoints?

    I understand that the Unified Coverage database is the way to do this but I cant find details on how to activate this.

  • To dump coverage from IUS, you need to use the –coverage command line option. For fUnctional coverage, you would specify “U” as in the following example:

    % irun –f run.f –coverage “U”

    This will dump the coverage into a cov_work directory. You then use iccr –gui to view the results. If you have IES (which includes the desktop manager version of enterprise manager), you can also use dtmanager to view the results of all coverage (IFV, Specman, IUS).
