ICCR coverage, ignore/cover parts of design

 Hi All,

I ran coverage for my design and generated the results. I view the results using the GUI.

In the GUI, is it possible to mark certain modules or instances as covered or ignore, because they would never be covered.

I checked the User Guide and Quick Reference, there they do not talk about anything like this. I also tried to use the mark command while generating the reports, but that also does not seem to work.(mark -ignore -instance -b XYZ *)

 Thanks

yes you can mark block or expression items directly within ICCR.  those items can be marked as ignored or covered.  From the snipped of code you included, however, seems like you may be trying to mark a complete instance.  Is that correct?

If that is what you are trying to do perhaps it would be better to exclude that instance or instances from coverage altogether using various forms of select_coverage and deselect_coverage in a coverage configuration file.

Take a look at the ICC User Guide.  Specifically Chapter 8 deals with the options needed to generate coverage data.  Look at the section detailing the -covfile option.

     Hope that helps.
