Specman with irun

 Hello all,

I am using Specman 82 and Incisiv 92 (we were unable to get specman  to work on Incisiv92 on redhat5, we have already submitted a request regarding the integration of specman and IES-xl).

For now we are using specman as a standalone simulator for 'e' files and Incisive for  verilog/vhdl/sysvlog/'sysc files. In integrating the simulator of NCSIM with specman we are getting the following error message for irun when irun is used to compile e files

irun uart_clk.e

irun uart_clk.e
irun: 09.20-s008: (c) Copyright 1995-2009 Cadence Design Systems, Inc.
irun: *W,SNVERMIS: The NCSim version is 09.20-s008 while the Specman version is 08.10.003-s. Mixing versions of Specman and NCSim is not supported. Cadence cannot guarantee results if you do so.

Manual compilation works fine for 'e' files using specman stand-alone commands (specman, specview, specrun) but ncsim with gui says simulation already ended and does not allow me to run ncsim or specman commands.

Ideally want to have incisiv92 with everything integrated but this is just required for a fast and running temporary solution for a small project.

Thanks,

Vinay Honnavara,

    Hi Vinay.

    INCISIV92 is a package containing Specman 9.2, IUS 9.2, vManager 9.2 etc.
Cadence tests all the components of 9.2 together to ensure correct integration.
We don't test combinations of IUS and Specman across the major versions, so we do not support or recommend using IUS 9.2 with Specman 8.1 like you're doing. Please use the Specman 9.2 that ships in INCISIV92.

    Steve.
