cannot simulate $fscanf (ncsim asks for vpi)

I am trying to used fscanf and other fileio which are verilog 2001 compliant (IEEE Std 1364-2001 Version C section 17.2.4.3
describes $fscanf and $sscanf.)

ncvlog and ncelab works fine. ncsim is asking to include a vpi (using -loadvpi)

what should i do? i can't believ IUS 8.20 does not support the 2001 standard (vintage 2001 indeed ...)

thanks

Both these constructs are very much supported. Can you please post a snippet of the error message?

I'm afraid that $frewind is not part of the IEEE standard.

$rewind is, but it's only argument is the file descriptor: "$rewind(file_ptr);"
