I get the following error message:

 ERROR: Unable to allocate memory for transition file slice variable transition index level (read).

I run under linux, 

                    total       used       free     shared    buffers     cached
Mem:      24669304    3699124   20970180          0      77792    2174028

 I should have enough memroy left,

SimVision 08.20-p001

any help help is welcome

    You may need to go to the 64 bit version of the simvision tool if the transition file is too large to be read into the 32 bit version. Also, 8.2-p001 is really old software. I'd strongly encourage you to download and use the latest version of the software from Cadence. There have been a lot of changes and fixes in the year+ since p001 was released.

     I was also getting OUT OF MEMORY error when trying to source sommand script I had saved earlier in simvision. It got solved when I used 64 bit version of my simvision 9.20-s017. Thank you.
