Linux support for IC610?

I'm a newbie on Cadence and here's my first post, so be soft if my question sounds dumb :)

Is there an online support for installation & set up Cadence tools on Linux platforms? I'm using RHEL 5 and met with quite a few issues when installing IC610 in it. I hope there is a list of Q&A that can help making the process easier. Thanks a lot.

You can contact customer support at http://support.cadence.com. However, if you use InstallScape, it walks you through the installation fairly clearly. After the install, you just need to add these two paths to your PATH variable and you should be good to go:

    • setenv CDSHOME  $software/IC614USV1
    • set path = ($path $CDSHOME/tools/bin $CDSHOME/tools/dfII/bin)

Thanks for the tips. I tried to install it using InstallScape and added the path variables, but there are still some issues. I'm trying to reinstall it now. Before I start, I've got a few questions:

    1. What's the best Linux distribution to use?

I used Redhat Enterprise Linux Client 5.5, not sure if it's fully compatible with IC610

    2. Do I need to install all the hotfixes and updates, and in what order?

IC610 failed to load after I installed hotfix IC_06.11 (2008.10.14), then I tried to uninstall the hotfix, but got an error message "Could not create Document from  file /home/user/cadence/installs/ You might be using an older version of InstallScape. Ensure that you are using the latest version of InstallScape." Actually my InstallScape is the latest version (ver 04.00.p12). Not sure what's going on.
