arguments to tcl file with irun

Hi,

I have a requirement where I want to pass arguments to the TCL file used with the irun command for my functional simulation test. A sample example would be

irun <options> -input myfile.tcl <tcl_file_arguments>

I tried to add arguments to the command line, but the irun interprets the TCL arguments as irun arguments and flags out errors. Is there a particular manner in which to provide arguments to TCL on the irun command?

I tried searching thro the forum and the cdnshelp documentation, but I couldnt find any such usecase/example. If it is documented somewhere please point it out to me.

On a side note, does the tcl for IUS support the tcl cmdline package?

many thanks, Himanshu

It is not easy to pass parameters to a TCL script from an irun command line. I've used the information from the support.cadence.com solution # 11275250, titled "How to pass arguments to tcl run scripts on the ncsim command line?" in the past. Basically you use multiple -input commands with the first ones setting TCL variable values and then the final one executing a TCL script that references the values of those variables.

    TAM1,

    many thanks.

The pointer given by you suffices my needs at this time. Seems that I can take this limitation and build my script ahead.

    regards

    Himanshu
