Simulation halt: NC-Verilog

Hi,

I have a problme with several Cadence tools (NC-verilog, ELC, Iscape) which has been occured from yesterday.

NC-verilog case:

% ncverilog -f xxxx
ncverilog: 06.10-p001: (c) Copyright 1995-2007 Cadence Design Systems, Inc.
(after this line, the run is halted, and there is no response)

When I check the run directory after killing the process, only ./INCA_libs/snap.nc/.ncv.log file is created.
I'm using Linux OS and file system is on NIS server. Interest thing is that, this situation is not occured when I use the ncverilog at the local file system (e.g., /tmp/*). So, IMO, our file server has some problems. But only, Cadence tools make this probloms, though.

ELC (library characterizer) case: at db_install stage, “lock” file is generated (owner is my account). But ELC cannot access DB because of the “lock” file.

Iscape case: download stops in 50%...

*** I have tried several workarounds - delete all directory, change directory, use different system, use other accounts... but the problem was not solved... Only it is working when I'm not using our file system (NIS).

*** Do  you have encountered this kind of problmes before? I would really appreciate if you can advise on this problem.

 Thank you very much,

Version 6.1-p1 is *very* old software. It would not be a surprise for it to have a problem with an up-to-date version of an operating system. Do you have access to a supported version?
