Specman 9.2 64 bit

 Hello All,

Does specman 9.2 have a environmental variable that you can use instead of a command line switch (-64)?

Can  you run specman 64 bit with modelsim (Mentor) in 32 bit mode and/or the other way around?

Thanks

Brian Miller

    Hi Brian.

As far as I'm aware, you'd need to have bothSpecman and your simulator (whatever vendor it comes from) in the same 32/64 bit configuration. Ususally Specman is loaded intot he simulator as a shared library and there's no way to load a 64-bit library into a 32-bit exe.

As for the environment variable for 64-bit mode, up to Incisive 9.2 the env.csh / env.sh supports a -64bit option so set the tool into 32/64 by default. From 10.2 onwards, the env.csh is deprecated and I admit I'm not sure what you'd do for linking with Modelsim in this case. I guess you just need to set the right LD_LIBRARY_PATH to teh 32/64 bit libraries in the Incisive installation.

    Steve.

You can try using CDS_AUTO_64BIT variable but no guarantees:

    setenv CDS_AUTO_64BIT ALL
