Loading text file increases simulation time ? Has anyone faced such an issue ?

Hi ,

I am loading a txt file which contains the default values of registers in order to check reset values and initialize the DUT shadow register space.I put a display after reset to display the shadow memory contents and they come out correctly. However the simulation time without the .txt file is much faster than with it.I suppose a .txt file loading should not affect the simulation time.

We have done the same in past however we have never come across such an issue before. Is it in anycase related to -sv switch that we currently are using for simulation? Please let me know your inputs.

Regards,

Pooja
