Configuration File Error

RFDIT
RFDIT over 13 years ago

Hi,

I am a relative newcome to the Cadence software but have been running into problems when running circuits on my home computer. Namely, all diodes return an rror message such as 'Diode D1N4148 is undefined'.

I have identified that the nom.lib is not present in the configuration files that are within 'Simulation settings'. However when i add this file, or any other .lib file, and 'add as global' they  appear in the configuration files list but are instantly deleted once i 'apply, ok' them.

I suspect this is a common issue but i have thus far been unable to solve this issue. Any help is greatly appreciated.

My guess is that you are running in Demo (or Lite / unlicensed) mode, the complete nom.lib from the licensed product is not supported in Demo mode, you might be able to add the individual LIB files you require, like diode.lib, or extract the model text from the supplied LIB files to your own library to get the simulation to work. This will probably be OK for diodes and the like but some models will require a license for simulation - hence the non-support of the full nom.lib without a license.
