per instance coverage for multiple instances of monitors

I have a bus monitor. I have 8 instances of this monitor. Now i have to write coverage groups which are only applicable to 3 instances. I tried per-instance option of cover_item. But in GUI coverage shown under types but i am expecting it under instances. I also tried per_unit_instance but then this add coverage group to all 8 instances. I am using e-specman and simvision 10.2 Plz reply. thanks in advance
