Hello!

I am doing a RTL simulation and running the profiler with irun 10.2.

In regards to the lines where I have added xxx's to the right
- Where can I find information on what these mean ?
- is there something I can do to better my simulation performance ?

------------------------------------------------------------
Stream Counts (2894294 hits total)
------------------------------------------------------------
%hits #hits  #inst  name
 24.0 694434 [   12] Continuous Assignment (file: myrtl.v, line: 123 in worklib.mymod [module])
  6.0 173915 [     ] WAKEUP/FWD, head, zmeth (method) // xxx
  4.7 134612 [     ] Method SSS_MT_PW2N (method) // xxx
  3.4 99683 [     ] Method SSS_KM_CL2TA (method) // xxx
  3.1 91002 [     ] Method SSS_MT_DU_LONGNFW (method) // xxx
  2.9 82511 [     ] WAKEUP/FWD, head, tail, zmeth (method) // xxx

Thanks in advance !

     Hi Tim,

Thanks for the quick reply. The document you pointed to did include information about the profile report, but I could not find anything about

    WAKEUP/FWD, SSS_MT_PW2N, SSS_KM_CL2TA, SSS_MT_DU_LONGNFW

A bit more searching lead me to "Incisive Performance Metrics Evaluation - Profiling" where it says

"Entries like: Method SSS_MT_CTRAN (method), Method SSS_MT_SVHASSIGN (method) are methods internal to tool.If such entries are taking alarming time percentage, contact Cadence customer support for the analysis."

Since my results do not show an "alarming time percentage" of these methods, I guess I can leave it as it is.

    Regards,

    tk
