Hi all,

Switching from release 10 to 12.2, I've found some problem with testbench which uses nc utilities.

ncelab (version 12.2) with option "-update" exit with  :

 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ncelab(64): 12.20-s007: (c) Copyright 1995-2013 Cadence Design Systems, Inc.

Updating: package NCUTILS.NCUTILITIES (AST)

/cadence/IS12.2/tools/inca/files/NCUTILS.src/ncutilities.vhd:

ncvhdl_p: *E,DLPAKW: Attempt to write package ncutils.ncutilities (AST)

into a read-only library.

         errors: 1, warnings: 0

ncupdate: *E,BUILDF: Rebuild of unit package NCUTILS.NCUTILITIES (AST) failed.

entity worklib.tb_ncutil (AST) is already up to date.

ncelab: *F,DLUPFL: Update failed for entity WORKLIB.TB_NCUTIL (AST)

(unable to update).

 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I didn't find clues on the web or in the docs,

Thanks,

Luca

It sounds like the libraries weren't extracted after installation. Have the admin run the scripts in /cadence/IS12.2/tools/inca/files/install drirectory.

    Hi Tim,

next monday I'll ask admin to check; at a first glance it seems that there aren't big difference in path

     /cadence/IS12.2/tools/inca/files/install/NCUTIL comparing to release 10.

Moreover, without update option, elaboration step is succesful.

    Thanks,

    Luca

HELP!  I'm getting this same error when I changed to version 12.10.007.  I'm working in SimVision, however, and there is no "admin" here.  Just me!  I created a FIFO in SmartGen and I'm now getting the following errors when I try to simulate:

    ncvhdl_p: *E,DLPAKW: Attempt to write entity proasic3.vcc (AST) into a read-only library.
ncupdate: *E,BUILDF: Rebuild of unit entity PROASIC3.VCC (AST) failed.

I'd go back to using the older version but I was getting compilation errors concerning the "library proasic3" that was being referenced in the new FIFO.vhd file.  Any ideas on how to clear this hurdle?

    Thanks

UPDATE:  It turns out that there is an admin here and that there was a problem with our compiled Actel 10.1-SP3 NC Sim libraries.  A recompilation resolved the issue.
