Compilation error with xcelium

Hi,

I get the following error after compiling the testbench with xcelium - "ERROR - 2018/11/08 11:13:08 - __main__ - ABORT, Compile Error, Due to a message of severity 'Compile Error' matching subStatus"...Not sure what is going wrong here as I can't see any *E messages in the compile log. Any ideas how to debug this?

Many Thanks,

Preethi

Hi Preeti. This message doesn't come from any Cadence tool that I know of, my guess is that your company has a wrapper script that is checking the Xcelium log messages for anything that looks like an error, and it's this wrapper that throws the failure.

I have often seen mistakes in wrapper scripts where they misinterpret log message and create false failures. For example a tool warning message might reference file name of source line that contains the string "error" and the wrapper script chokes on it. Similarly the Xcelium parser tends to report messages like:

    file: raminfr.v
    module worklib.raminfr:v
    errors: 0, warnings: 0

and again, wrappers often misinterpret the "errors: 0" as an actual error.

I think you'll need to talk to whoever owns your wrapper scripts, to get them to get the root cause of the exception that they are throwing.

    Hi,

Thanks a lot for the quick response. I'll check about this wrapper script, if there is any.

    Many Thanks,

    Preethi
