regression/coverage collection/analyze flow

Hello All,

I am a new starter for Cadence flow, now i have a legacy project which using Incisiv.

According to handover doc, the flow i am using is:

1. Use emanager to run regression using a vsif file, and then it will generate a vsof file.

2. Launch vplan tree window from emanager, and read vplan file.

3. Publish report using "reports" button in vplan tree GUI. (the report include 3 part: test feature/code cov/functional cov)

4. Launch IMC from vplan tree GUI, and get .vRefine file in IMC.

My question is:

How can we apply vRfine file to vplan tree GUI so that we can generate report with vplan tree after applying it?

    Hi.

The legacy Enterprise Manager (emanager) tool doesn't support the XML vRefine format, it only supports the legacy ICCR format coverage waiver files. I know that isn't the answer you hoped for, but both Incisive and Enterprise Manager are no longer being developed, so this feature gap was never addressed. The new vManager, based on the same GUI technology as IMC, does support the vRefine format so it supports what you want to do. In principle vManager does work with Incisive so you could make this work by switching from Enterprise Manager to vManager, provided your company has licences for vManager.

    Hi StephenH,

    Thanks for reponse quickly.

Another concerns is: I know signals could be wavied by ccf file, and could we use ccf file to do excludes for expression, block, fsm too ?

No, the CCF file is really intended for controlling the instrumentation of coverage before simulation, and you would not want to re-run regressions with a new CCF each time you exclude a few signals! I believe we support the exclusion of toggle signals in the CCF because they are commonly static by design (e.g. DFT signals) unlike expressions or FSM states. Also, toggle signals are easily referenced by name, whereas there is no standard syntax for referring to an expression sub-term.
