Why does simvision sometimes causes the desktop freezed?

Below are some details,

1. OS: CentOS 7.9

2. sivision version: XCELIUM/22.03.004

When the simvision causes the desktop freezed, I killed simvision process, then the desktop back to un-freezed.

Thanks.

    Same problem here !

    XCELIUM 22.09.002  on RHEL 7.8

    That is a pain !

Switching to open source tools  (icarusVerilog/gtkWave) for the time being.

Which window manager do you use? KDE? Gnome? I've heard of cases where the Gnome shell gets stuck at 100% CPU, and resetting the display or re-sizing it can help. Someone suggested Alt+F2 then press "r" to reset the server, but I haven't tried this myself as my sessions don't hang.

To restart the simulation after editing a file, you can use the Simulation -> Restart menu item. This will leave SimVision windows up and recompile/re-elaborate underneath.

To limit the simulation time, the easist way is to enter "run 100ns" in the Console window. You can also "run -abs 300ns" if you want to run to the time 300 instead of advancing by 300.

Thanks, thats working.  Slowly becoming familiar with simvision.

I ried to find a "xrun"  commandline option to specify the simulation time - but did not find any.

Is there a cmd-line option to specify the simulation time ?

"run -abs ..." is not working (anymore).

It is "run -absolute" in Xcelium 22.09.

I am stil looking for a command, how to specify the simulaiton runtime from commandline, such as:

     # xrun -f optionsfile -xmsimargs run -absolute 100ns   (not working example)

    Any idea ?
