Latch Behavior Problem in IFV

archive
archive over 17 years ago

Hi,

maybe someone has an idea where the problem is.

1) In the design I test, I have some latches (clk latches).
2) For some reason, the output of the latches goes to 'U' (in purple) when the latch is closed (in cex). When the latch is transparant the output is fine.
3) I have several latches, it does not happen on all of them
4) When I insert a cutpoint on the output of the latch with the 'U', the 'U' is gone (in cex)
5) When I run the cex with the -dynamic switch, the 'U' is also gone and the latch seems to work fine.

The main problem now is that I can't trust the cex due to the incorrect latch behavior.

Thanks for your support,
Tom

I've not seen this particular issue before. Could you post your latch model so that we could see if anything obvious jumps out at us?
