SystemVerilog DPI in NCSim?

Hi all, Because it will take some time waiting download IUS583, I tried to use SystemVerilog DPI (mostly imported functions). I heard that Synopsys can simply include C file in file list with SystemVerilog file and run simulation. But Cadence NC seems need C code compile and link to a lib. I have read the NCsim document and find a switch "-sv_lib". But I cannot find a simple example. Is there any step by step tutorial about how to compile, link and run SystemVerilog DPI C file in NCsim? Best regards, Davy

  • Since this thread has been re-opened, I'd like to mention that Cadence has created a utility called 'irun' (i for Incisive) that is superceding ncsc_run, ncverilog, etc. This utility will allow you to pass in any combination of files that will get compiled correctly based on file name extension, i.e. .vhd, .v, .sv, .c, .cpp. You can also give it command line options either from the 3-step process or the +args from ncverilog.

    So, irun will answer the original question in this thread about being able to pass your DPI code and SV code with one command and have it take care of all the housekeeping.
