Where do I find OVM?

archive
archive over 17 years ago

As per a recent press release the OVM is already shipping with IUS 6.2, does anyone know when it will be really available as Open download? Or is there a channel where consultants like me get to see it now?

Thanks in advance

Ajeetha and the many, many, many people with the same question, :-)

Stay tuned everyone, the download is on its way. The OVM source has been in use at a small set of early adopters (apologies to those we had to turn away) and each has been able to use it to build reusable verification components. The reports coming back indicate that the source code is clean and robust.

Mentor and Cadence are building a joint website from which the source code will be available. We are still working toward an end-of-year (2007!!!) release as we promised in the August press release. As software projects go -- especially in the holiday season -- there may be some last minute variability in the release date but it shouldn't be much. As for access, the website will use an Apache click-through license so any and everyone -- even my kids :-) -- will be able to access it. (Hmmm, OVM to verify a Roomba hack. Could be an interesting school project....)

Keep watching this board and the press wire for the release announcement!
