Hi All,

I am using simvision version6.2 .
I need to see fields in simvision's waveform browser in my environment.
For that I need to creat probs (this is written in cdns help).

In this journy I tried to creat some probs by following command but it gives error.

Command : probe -create xbus_tb_top.xbus_demo_base_test.xbus_demo_tb0.scoreboard0.num_writes -tasks -functions -database waves -waveform

Error :  ncsim: *E,PEXCHR: Extra characters after object name: '.xbus_demo_tb0.scoreboard0.num_writes'.

So any one help me regarding same.

Ultimetly I need to see waveform of fields of SV classes .

Thanks in advance;
Gaurav

    You can use transaction recording to display data items in the waveform. Look at the xbus_monitor.sv file and search for begin_tr() and end_tr(). This is also documented in the OVM reference manual.

    Hi Jigar,

    Thanks for reply.
    Please can u give me steps to do it in xbus-ovm example?
    I tried to enable recording and then called record function , but it did not shown me wave form for transections.

    It will be really be helpfull if you will suggest me some steps to do it for xbusovm.

    Regards;
    Gaurav

    As I said, look at xbus_monitor.sv file and "search" for begin_tr() and end_tr(). All you need is call these function around your protocol code in driver or monitor in order to perform transaction recording.

    Run xbus example with this command: "irun -compile_ius.f -gui -ovm". The transactions will show up in SimVision design browser under "ovm_test_top->xbus_demo_sve0->...->monitor". Send the transactions to waveform viewer. If it is still unclear then drop me an e-mail with your phone number, I will call you.
