Check write only register functionality

archive

Hello All,
Iam new to this group. I have a doubt in Specman. I want to verify the write only register functionality. Writing random values to register, readback values from same register and check with expected values wont work as read back of write only register will give logic one. How to proceed verification in these kind of cases.

In such cases, register testing has to be combined with actual transactions. Let's say that this W-Only register was for an Interrupt enable reg - then create a situation in the DUT that would trigger the interrupt and check that it does correctly latch the interrupt. Doing a functional coverage for such a thing is fun indeed!
