Fixed property help

Need a push in the right direction, I have been perplexed by what I'm seeing.

I have a layout file that I'm attempting to update, a number of the parts have fixed properties tied to them. So to remove this I go to 'edit', 'properties', I then select the part that I wish to change, this pops up a dialog box and shows the 'fixe' property as 'true'. I then select the 'delete' button, press apply then ok.

I then select the move or delete buttons, select the part that I just changed, and in the command line section I get a message that says this symbol has a fixed property?, but I just removed this? Is there a different way to get around this?

Thanks,
