Power nets vs offpage connector

Jamez

How can I get a Power net called V5P and an offpage conn. Called V5P to be the same net? Capture seems to create 1 net called V5P and another called V5P_######## (random number).

Thanks,

Jim

Capture creates two net names because they are not the same net.

You need to be aware of the hierarchy of naming net objects, Hierarchical Port overrides Off Page Connector overrides Global Power Symbol overrides Net Name overrides un-named net. IF you connect a net connected to a global power symbol to an off page connector, the off page connector takes over the naming of the net AND the off page connector MUST be used to define the connectivity in the design, otherwise you will get two net names.
