RTL Compiler: "Clock Tree" Reports

Hi,

I have a design with multiple clocks (including generated clocks)., and I would like to find out how many registers are driven by each defined clock. Clocks are defined via SDC files

I assume that there is a way of doing this, but cannot work it out.

Thanks for any help

Steven

I suggest using the "all des seq" command combined with TCL "llength".  For example:

rc>  set num_flops_clk [llength [all des seq -clock clk]]

Look at the "all des seq" usage (all des seq -h).  It has other very useful options.

    Hi Brad,

Thanks for the quick reply. It's easy to find the documentation when you know what the command is ;-)

(I was concentrating on the find command).

     Thanks again,

    Steven

     Hi Steven,

not necessarily helpful in this case but a neat useful command is

     apropos

so you can do things like

    apropos clock_gating

and will get all commands, attributes, and help strings that have that term in them

    Hi Steven,

I am not sure, if you are still looking for the cleaner way ..

report clocks,  will give you the table with the number of registers clcoked by each define clock.

    Hope this helps.
