set_dont_modify and uniqify in BG

If there is a dontmodify attribute on a module , BG is not uniquifying that. Ofcourse it is mentioned in documentations also. But in the design there are some macros and which are to be dont modify , but have to be uniquified.
The CTS tool is not acception non-uniquified netlist.

What is the best way to do this?

First do_uniquely_instantiate and then set_dont_modify
Uniquify first, then set dont_modify
