RC report gates

Hi all,

 If I use the report gates command in order to get a report of number of cells that were implemented, then I also get the area report for implemented cells. I've checked the values from .lib file with the given numbers for area of a certain cell, and the values match (depending on the number of that cell implemented). So the question is: In what units are the area values expressed in the .lib file?

  • Hi Stevan, the .lib does not necessarily define the area. The library vendor documentation frequently specifies this but varies vendor to vendor. Some libraries are specified in um while others use area 1 for a standard NAND independent from the real physical size. hope this helps, gh-
