Hi,

is there a possibility in Cadence RC to use TLU or TLU+ data for synthesis?

Hi Alex, not that I am aware of. I would think any such solution would be customized to your specific needs. What tools are you using? I would guess your best bet is any such tools would be able to do translation for you gh-

    Hi,

I'm currrently trying to produce similar synthesis results with RC and DC. RC takes standard WLMs as input, DC uses TLU(+). As far as I know these approaches are completly different. Consequently it is hard to determine reasons for different synthesis results if each tool works with other inputs.

Hi Alex, while RC does support WLMs, the recommended flow has been the use PLE (Physical Layout Estimators) for several years now. PLEs rely on DEF, LEF, and capTbl information hence provide the most accurate modelling. As per exercise in correlation, you need to take to preCTS to really do meaningful correlation. A TLU+ vs PLE number will be comparing apples and oranges. You can go into RC and/or DC and generate a SPEF to be read in the other tool but a flow of reading SPEF and optimizing is quite useless since the only to keep SPEF annotation meaningful is to not optimize. hope this helps, gh-
