Compiling Xilinx libraries using Xcleium

Hello all,

Am compiling Xilinx libraries using Cadence Xcelium. And facing issues while compiling vhdl packages (basically with xmvhdl tool).

Please find the error below. Could someone please help me with this, if am going wrong with the setup somewhere?

MAKE xcelium/cds.lib
MKDIR xcelium/xmready
### Compile VHDL packages ###
xmvhdl -NOVITALCHECK -linedebug -v93 -nocopyright -work work /home/espuser/esp/socs/xilinx-vc707-xc7vx485t/socgen/esp/esp_global.vhd
xmvhdl_cg: *F,NOYOPN: cannot open specification file '/tmp/.nctmpdir/ncvhdMEZ5RT'.
make: *** [xcelium/xmready] Error 2

Thanks

Rohan

    Rohan,

Check the permissions on /tmp/.nctmpdir to make sure you have write access. Normally this gets created by the first user doing the compilation, and has world write permissions - I'm guessing something different has happened on the machine you're running on.

Thanks a lot! This issue got resolved.

Though, am facing some licensing issue.

    This is the following error:
    Trying to check out license...
    Xcelium_Limited_Single_Core 18.00 - Failed
    Xcelium_Single_Core 18.00 - Failed
    Xcelium_Safety 18.00 - Failed
    Xcelium_Multi_Core 18.00 - Failed
    Xcelium_For_Partners 18.00 - Failed
xmsim: *F,NOLICN: Unable to checkout license for the simulation. Use ncsim -MESSAGES for more information. 'lic_error -15'.

'lic_error -15' seems to be license server communication issue. Could you please let me know the potential issues with the setup? Am I missing anything here?

    This is my configuration file.

    export LM_LICENSE_FILE=$LM_LICENSE_FILE:<license_server>

    export CDS_LIC_FILE=<license_server>

Did you look at the output you get when you type "lic_error -15" in a terminal window? This make suggestions.

If that doesn't help, please contact customer support; licensing issues are generally going to be hard to resolve through a community forum...

Thanks a lot for your quick response. It was an issue with license server daemon, and is working now.
