Cadence Encounter and Innovus Library Compatibility.

Hello Everybody:

I am new to using Cadence Logic Synthesis and Physical Design tools (Genus, Innovus, Encounter). I wish to perform these, however, I wished to know if the Nangate 45nm Open Cell Library (available on Silvaco) would be compatible with both Innovus as well as Encounter. If yes, any configuration/setup details (to get the design up and running with the Place and Route) you could provide would be immensely helpful. Would appreciate your response. Thank you.

    Hi Riya,

I have not used the Nangate PDK, however I had a quick look and it seems they offer LEF/DEF views which are compatible with the Cadence tools. I did not see any information about the timing libraries, but I would assume they use the industry standard liberty format, which is also compatible.

If this is the case, you can use this with both Genus and Innovus.

Regarding the setup, one way to start would be to look at the Rapid Adoption Kits on the support page support.cadence.com. E.g.

Genus Synthesis Solution: Genus RAK for Beginners with Common UI (CUI)
Block Implementation Flow using Stylus Common User Interface (CUI) of Innovus

Thank you very much for your help, I truly appreciate it! As with the Rapid Adoption Kits, they seem to be asking for the Host ID/Reference Key/LMS Key and I am unsure where to get them from for access. Would appreciate your help on this as well. Thank you very much.

    Sincerely,

    Riya

    Hi Riya,
you can get the valid Host ID from your system admin or ask a colleague who already has a registration.

    Thanks
