netlist differences

Hello,

I heard from a friend that every-time you run a design, a new netlist is created. How is this netlist different each time even if the circuit is same?

I assume you mean the netlist changes in Encounter. The netlist gets optimized to fix timing, HFN,...

The functionality doesn't change during optimization. This is a normal behavior in digital design implementation.

At each step you verify the netlist against the golden one using Conformal.

    Kind Regards,

    Andreas

    Hi Andreas,

Thanks for your detailed reply! I was wondering how do you figure out the netlist has changed for the same circuit just by looking at the netlist code?
