warning in areamax-areamin

Hi,

I am using Cadence IC 6.1.6- UMC 0.13 fdk.

I am doing some circuits with N_HG_33_L130E and P_HG_33_L130E MOSFETs.

I can clearly see from the  FDK release note the limits of width and length of MOSFETs as follows-

For N_HG_33_L130E, 0.16um<=effW<=100um & 0.34um<=l<=50um, whereas for P_HG_33_L130E it is 0.16um<=effW<=100um & 0.3um<=l<=50um

When I keep the Maximum width for pMOS in the circuit i.e. 100um and minimum length i.e. 350nm and connecting 5 pMOS in parallel for some purpose, I get a warning as below-

Instance length width or area does not fit the given lmax-lmin, wmax-wmin or areamax-areamin range for the model 'p_hg_33_l130e'.

There is no area limit in the release note. But I can see two parameters in the instance of MOSFET - 'Source diffusion area' and 'Drain diffusion area', both same value, which changes when we alter the width or length of the MOSFET.

Should I worry or concern more about this warning ??

    I would be a bit cautious because it suggests that you're outside the characterised model range. You should check with UMC.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
