WARNING (ADEXL-2410): Multiple entities....

Hello,

I am running some simulations using Spectre (cadence IC6.1.4) and recently I got below warning I don't have it before. and I am not sure what has gone wrong. Although this is just a warning, I am curious and not feeling good about it. Please if someone knows about it could give some explanations.

WARNING (ADEXL-2410): Multiple entities of type 'dependentTest' in the setup database have the same name, 'ARBITER_PUF-Arbiter_32-1'.
Multiple entities within the setup database are identified by a single name.
For this reason, ADE XL is unable to unambiguously locate the correct entry
with that name. Only one of these will be used.

Thanks

Syafiq

    Syafiq,

We used to have a solution about this on support.cadence.com but given that we've had 3 major releases of IC6 since then - even the last hotfix of IC614 was almost 5.5 years ago, it has long been removed.

    The text used to say:

These warnings is come due to test name in ADEXL are harmless and unnecessary for end-user.
R&D has removed these warning messages in IC6.1.4 ISR11.
Kindly download the latest IC6.1.4 ISR from http://downloads.cadence.com
As a work around in releases before IC6.1.4.ISR11, you can just rename your test name from the default one Lib:Cell:1 to any other name should resolve this warning message.

I suggest you use something newer that's supported. There really is very little reason to use such an old version.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Andrew,

Thanks for your prompt reply. It is good to know that this warning is harmless. I will follow the given work around.

    Thanks
