CDB2OA for PDK

AllenD

Hi All

I am a new cadence user. I am trying to install a PDK and I followed its installation manual. There is only the last step remaining- the PDK is in cdb format but I am using IC617, which is an oa friendly version.

Can anyone provide some help about how translate the cdb pdk to oa pdk?

Thanks

AllenD

    Allen,

The first thing you should do is check with the foundry if there is an OpenAccess version of the PDK. In general we wouldn't recommend you convert the PDK yourself unless there was no other choice.

It's mostly going to be a matter of running cdb2oa (e.g. via the conversion toolbox) but even then there's a possibility it might not work properly without making a few other changes - exactly what these might be will depend on the PDK. I suggest you contact customer support who can probably help with knowing whether there's a foundry PDK available on OA already, or give advice on what you need to do to convert the PDK.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
