Run analogLib/fourier before stop time

twen

Is there anyway or a workaround that I can force analogLib/fourier in my circuit to output the results before the AMS/Spectre/XPS interactive simulation finishes? What I want to do is to interactively change my circuit input parameters by the force command and then run the transient simulation for a period and then check the fourier output to see if the circuit input parameters are optimal. I do not want to exit the interactive ncsim session and restart the simulation because restarting the simulation takes really long time.

I am using "@(#)$CDS: virtuoso version ICADV12.3-64b 11/21/2017 19:22 (sjfhw308) $" and "irun(64): 15.20-s060: (c) Copyright 1995-2018 Cadence Design Systems, Inc."

Thanks,

TJ

    Hi TJ,

I don't think this is possible. The best I can think of as a possible solution would be to (somehow, and I'm not sure exactly how to do this) read the waveform data in Tcl, perform an FFT (there are Tcl implementations of FFT, or you could send the data to some external program to do that). Since I'm not sure how to read the waveform data using Tcl (and am rather short of the time needed to prove the flow), I'd suggest you log a case with customer support to see whether we can help find a solution to your challenge.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Hi, Andrew,

Thank you for the suggestion. Do you know off the top of your head what is the Tcl command to read the waveform data? Can I interatively change the strobeperiod from the SimVision Console?

Sorry, that’s the bit I don’t know how to do. Assuming it’s even possible. I don’t know that you can change the strobe period either (it would be via the analog command, but I don’t think you can do it).

Those are the kind of things that would need some research and experimentation...

    Regards,

    Andrew
