Open Text ETX ; performance issues

Hi,

We have switched from VNC to ETX (version 12.0.0) and Virtuoso seems to have hit a performance issue.  Users are seeing what is described as  a 'geometry flashing issue'.  

This is our first go with ETX and we'd like to stay with this solution vs VNC.   This is a vague description.  Please let me know other info required to troubleshoot.

Any suggestions/idea?

    I, for one, do not understand what this means - nor do I fully understand what your comment "and Virtuoso seems to have hit a performance issue." means.

    I do nor have recent experience with ETX - but do have experience with many remote desktop applications for use with Cadence tools. Amoung these are  X, GoGlobal, Remote Desktop, various VDI applications (Tiger, VNC, NoMachine). Although I can't address your specific question, I can suggest that NoMachine has been the most robust, well performing, and cross-platform solution I've used. I've recommended it to others in our company and have been told people far prefer it to other VDI. It has native versions for the PC, Mac, and iPads (although not for iPhone/iPod).

    So, I apologize for not being able to directly answer your question jvmagic, but can at least offer a suggestion.

    I also don't know what "geometry flashing issue" means either. I would suggest that you contact OpenText support (they are a Cadence connections partner, and we also use ETX within Cadence amongst other solutions such as NoMachine NX; I don't see any issues with ETX, but maybe it's dependent upon the version you're using or the configuration).
