I want to do AMS simulation. But when I run I see this error:
*ERROR* (AMS-2141): The INCISIV installation being used is not compatible with the AMS Unified Netlisting (AMS UNL) flow. To run AMS Unified Netlister, either use INCISIV 13.20-s007 or a later release, or use other AMS netlisters."
It seems something is wrong with INCISIV version. How should I change the INCISIV version to get it solved?
As for my INCISIV version, I get "INCISIV102" when I type "ncroot" in terminal. (I don't know if 102 indicates the version)
I don't know what was exactly the problem. I used Cadence 6.1.5 instead of 6.1.7 for simulating AMS and it worked
Well, the right solution is to move to a currently supported digital/mixed-signal simulator version, not to change the IC version back to accommodate a 10 year old version! The last release of INCISIVE was INCISIVE152 and then it was replaced by XCELIUM, with the latest version being XCELIUM2003. The issue is that you were trying to use the newer Unified Netlister (UNL) which is now the only supported choice, and that requires something vaguely recent - as the message suggested (even INCISIVE13.2 is 7 years old).
Thank you for reply Andrew.
You think I will have problems if I proceed with the old version?
If I am going to use a new version INCISIV, how should I create/involve it in my set up?
Well, using an old version is more likely to have flow bugs - software improves over the years.
To use a new version, you need to ensure that <INCISIVE152instDir>/tools/bin or <XCELIUM2003instDir>/tools/bin are in your UNIX path (if you type "which irun" or "which xrun" in UNIX you should then find the executable). How you control that, I can't say, as this will depend on your UNIX setup in your environment. Since you found a way of switching the IC version used, I'd expect you to have a similar way to switch the INCISIVE or XCELIUM versions (many organisations use "modules" to do this).
The newest version that I have in the UNIX path is INCISIV13.10. I don't know how or where should I provide a new version. please let me know if you have any suggestion.
